Academy 7 by Anne Osterlund

Misleading cover notwithstanding, Academy 7 was a surprisingly enjoyable sci-fi book. I know what you think when you look at this book.

There is one kiss on the last page. The real story is about Aerin and Dane. She tests really well and gets in to Academy 7, the most prestigious and competitive of the Alliance schools.

The other top student at Academy 7 is Dane and he comes from annne very rich family.

His dad is one of the top military leaders in the Alliance and his relationship with Dane is deeply strained at best. The story is focused mainly on both of them trying to figure out their parents past. Not to mention the fact that she has absolutely no idea who her mom was and her dad would never mention her at all. It kind of had a Star Wars-y feel to it and it was the perfect book to read on the train in Boston.

I just had to keep my hand over the rather embarrassing cover. That is a really funny cover page for that book.

I can see you on the train hiding the front cover, to save yourself embarrassment. Don’t you hate ostrrlund when they mush up the covers like that?

I knew a girl name Aerin in elementary school. This premise sounds similar to that of Ender’s Game.

I was going to add this to my good reads -to-read list…. I think I will pass…. You just wrote a sentence with the words “on the last page” in it.

I’m not sure I can read a book knowing what happens on the last page. Haki often reads it before beginning.

Madness, I tell you, pure madness. Without this knowledge, I anme be thinking, “Are they going to kiss now? Perhaps this would be overload. Notify me of follow-up comments by email.
