Apr 18, Aparna rated it did not like it Shelves: The kid thats is what i can think of calling the “author”, i cannot justify calling the guy much elseis a pseudo grown up, jaded, disillusioned guy with BAD raneja IIT standards, huh!!!!
The “story”line, follows Tejas Narula who wants to travel to the rahja of the country may as well be the edge of the universe, the way he puts itto Chennai, to meet his long-haired, silver-earring waering, “simple” Shreya, who is not “that” kind of girl Wonedr what YOUR rank was Utter waste of time. I never could finish it and wont.

Aug 06, Kodali rated it it was amazing. Have you ever gone through a book that was so good you kept hugging yourself mentally as you read?? Has any book ever stirred your soul and brought out tenderness that has been lying dormant for quite some time?
Well it happened for me and i do not promise it is the case with every one. When i was reading the book, i thought,i was definitely missing the part of life he was describing. I felt jealous of the experiences he was narrating. Although it was the author deviated a bit in the middle with Have you ever gone through a book that was so good you kept hugging yourself mentally as you read??
Although it was the author deviated a bit in the middle with his long descriptions and his filmy ending, the way he describes little joys in the life, monsoons, train journey and little poetry in the middle was very good.
Don’t compare him with Chetan Bhagat. If Chetan bhagat works are like “American pie” movie, this novel is like “A walk to remember” type. View all 5 comments. This book gave me one such moment. As a struggling author, I know how difficult it can be to get across to a publisher who sees the merit in your story. I look tuwhar at the struggle of my first book and wonder if Tushar Raheja had to go through the same?
I also wonder if there is any merit at all in the screening processes of certain publishing houses. Has the focus shifted from language a There are moments in life when you want to take a pause and look at where you are and everything around you. Has the focus shifted from language and story telling to retain only story telling?
Because whatever jam I say about this book, it does have an entertaining story. The book clearly lacks an editorial touch. I do not think rahejw is the author’s fault. He is young and the immaturity reflected in his writing is only natural. It should have been the responsibility of the editor yushar fine tune this write-up. The grammar is atrocious.
It makes me think that the next generation is growing up reading wrong English and believing it is right just because it has been published! Is this really what we want to kam teaching our children? When there is no relevance to grammar and there is nothing to boast about on a vocabulary front, all that does remain is the story. Good teenage drama, decent humor and thankfully no sleaze. But does it qualify as a novel? A short story would justify it more. Man 27, Ashish Iyer rated it did anyhhing like it Shelves: Didnt like one bit of this book.
Jul rsheja, Manikanta Avinash rated it really liked it. This dude writes way better than Chetan Bhagat. A very warm, nice love story which finally an IITian can relate to unlike 5. Obviously he is inspired a lot by Wodehouse and he folows in his footsteps well. A very funny and warm love story which doesn’t look filmy like Chetan Bhagat books. Looking forward to his next Jun 02, Sahil Aggarwal rated it it was amazing. They say you can’t judge a book by its cover This one is an exception.
You pick the book in the bookstore and you know very well what’s coming So please don’t try and find meanings or teachings from a novel like this. You’ve some stuff to manage, a meeting to prepare for, an exam to study for, do it Its a book about love, life, and fun and at least for once it strikes Refreshing Its a book about love, life, and fun and at least for once it strikes a cord with the reader be it anybody.
Its about all those crazy stupid things you can do in love obviously you don’t end up doing it but then its a fiction and that’s the beauty of it. So I would say I loved this novel, coz I’ve lived what is called a life at school and college and now PG tooo Apr 06, Muddle head rated it it was ok Shelves: Not worth the time spent on it, i regret having wasted time on it. This book doesn’t have anything that i expected, but thank god, it didn’t have any sleazy, cheap scenes like the ones of CB.
Coming back to this, its full of wit and humor, rather more than that is necessary in a novel. The author would be better off having a blog site writing funny blogs and earning revenue from the google ads on his blog.
He need not have to write a book. Absolutely no literary value, you can’t even teach your Not worth the time spent on it, i regret having wasted time on it. Absolutely no literary value, you can’t even teach your child grammar using this book!!! Yes, this one definitely describes a college student’s life as is, and i expected it go forward and show us what happens afterwards, but it didn’t. Here i understood that its just because the author himself is a 4th year student at IITD!!! Awesome, he should just have condensed this novel and written for his college journal instead.
Just because one happens to be witty and his friends happen to be dumb, doesn’t mean that one should write a novel!!! And this thing abt ‘IIT’ in the title, is nothing but a cheap marketing stunt i suppose, to cash in. Nonetheless, i don’t want the author to read this review, after all he is a kid and am afraid how he would take this in the bad sense. Well, if you are reading this Tushar, here are some plus points: You do have great sense of humor and ur style of digressing away from the topic in hand reminds me of one of the Wodehouse books well, i read only one Wodehouse.
You could do well if you try to give out some kind of message through the book, by giving a ending where the protagonist realises his mistakes. Also, please avoid coincidences, one cannot accept them even in movies nowadays, leave alone books. Do work a bit on writing a tight script. On a second thought, i did love the way u left the novel at the end, but given that, i would love to see the protagonist learn something stress more on this, make it emotional, no probs, it will be gud to include sme emotion in a novel full of wit and humor during his wonderful journey.
Overall, its a time-pass book, better to spend ur bucks on this rather than on some hi-fi magazine!
