Product Parts Locations See these sections to identify the parts on your product. By loading your pages in the automatic document feeder ADFyou can also scan, copy, and fax double-sided documents.
If you need to disable the wireless network to set up your product on an Ethernet network, press the arrow buttons and select Disable Wireless LAN instead. Then follow the instructions on the Start Here sheet to set up your product on a wired network and install the necessary software from the product CD. Enter your wireless password or network name and then password using the displayed keypad. Pull out the paper cassette.
Slide the edge guides outward. If you are using legal-size paper, press the button to extend the paper cassette. Slide the edge guides against the paper, but not too tight. Make sure the paper fits beneath the top edges of the guide, and is not sticking out from the end of the cassette.
To prevent paper feeding problems, make sure you do not load too much paper in the cassette. Gently replace the paper cassette. Extend the output tray and open the paper stopper. If you are using legal-size or longer paper, do not open the paper stopper. Do not remove or insert the paper cassette during printing.
Load photo paper, printable side down, workfoce the edge guide as shown. Make sure the paper is loaded against the edge guide and not sticking out from the end of the cassette. Make sure the paper fits beneath the top edges of the guide.
Gently replace paper cassette 1. The paper may slide forward slightly as you insert the cassette. Always follow these paper loading guidelines: Insert envelopes, with printable side ussr and flap edge left, in the center of the tray. Slide the edge guides against the envelopes, but not too tightly. Make sure the envelopes fit beneath the top edges of the guides, and are not sticking out from the end of the cassette. Borderless Paper Type Compatibility You uer print borderless photos on compatible paper types in compatible sizes: Placing Originals on the Product Follow the instructions here to place your original documents or photos on the product.
Do not place anything on top of your product or use its cover as a writing surface to avoid damaging it. Workfroce sure the originals meet the Automatic Document Feeder specifications before loading them. Make sure your originals are not creased or folded, and do not contain holes, staples, tape, or other materials that could obstruct the feeder.

Fan your stack of originals and tap them gently on a flat surface to even the edges. Insert the originals into the ADF faceup and top-edge first. Slide the ADF edge guide against the originals, but not too tightly. If you’re using the 2-up Copy layout, make sure the originals are loaded as shown Placing Originals on the Product Copying Documents or Photos You can copy documents or photos onto various sizes and types of paper, including Epson special papers.
Place your original document or photo on the scanner glass, or place multi-page documents in the ADF. If you need to adjust the darkness of your copy, press the arrow buttons to change the Density setting.
Not all options or settings may be available, depending on other copying settings. If necessary, select your product name as the printer you want to use. You may also need to select Properties or Preferences to view your print settings. You see the Main tab of your printer settings window: Select the Paper Source setting that indicates where you loaded the paper you want to print on.

Select the type of paper you loaded as the Epsn Type setting. Check the paper type settings list for details. Select the Quality setting that matches the print quality you want to use. Select a Color option: Cassette 1 Selects the paper in cassette 1 as the paper source. Cassette 2 Selects the paper in cassette 2 as the wprkforce source. Cassette 1 then 2 Selects the paper in cassette 1 as the paper wokrforce and automatically switches to cassette 2 when cassette 1 is empty.
Click the Settings button to select image layout and guideline options. Select the double-sided printing options you want to use. Click OK to return to the Main tab. Click the Print Density button. Workflrce see this window Select the type of document you are printing as the Document Type setting.
The software automatically sets the Adjustments options for that document type. If you selected the User-Defined document type, select the Adjustments options you want to use. Print Density Adjustments – Windows When you select the User-Defined setting, you can select any of the available options on the Print Density Workforde window to adjust the print quality of your double-sided print job. Print Density Sets the level of ink coverage for double-sided printing.
Increase Ink Drying Time Sets the amount of time required for drying ink after printing on one side of the paper before printing the other side in double-sided printing to prevent ink smearing. Select the size of the your document or photo as the Document Size setting, and the size of your paper as the Output Paper setting. Color Controls Lets you select a Color Mode setting, individual settings for Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and Density, and individual color tones.
If you select the Adobe RGB color mode, you can spson adjust the midtone density using the Gamma setting. Fix Photo Improves the color, contrast, and sharpness of flawed photos.
Some options may be pre- selected or unavailable, depending on other settings you worktorce chosen.

Place your cursor over one of the Printing Presets to view its list of settings. Use any of the available options on the screen to control your printing presets. To choose an option for printing, select it. Click OK or Print to start printing.
Printing with Windows Selecting Default Print Settings – Windows When you change your print settings in a program, the changes apply only while you are printing in that program session. If you want to change the print settings you use in all your Windows programs, you can select new default print settings. Select the print settings you want to use as defaults in all your Windows programs. These settings are now the defaults selected for printing.
You can still change them as needed for printing in any program session. You see the maintenance options: Select the language you want to use as the Language setting.
Click OK to close the printer software window. The printer software screens appear in the language you selected the next time you access them. Do one of the following for each type of update: The print window may look different, depending on the version of Mac OS X and the application you are using. Select the Copies and Pages settings as necessary. If you do not see these settings in the print window, check for them in your application before printing.
manuzl Select any application-specific settings that appear on the screen, such as those shown in the image above for the Preview application. Select Print Settings from the pop-up menu.
