Jan 20 I’m considering getting the books. I heard good things about them but wanted to know if any of you have used them and what your creaative are.

Creative Guitar: Advanced Techniques Volume 2: Advanced Techniques

From what I read, the first book is more theory and he 2nd is technique How far in theory does the first one go? Are both books independent or do I need to strat with cteative first one? Jan 21 I guitzr both of them David and to be honest I don’t know how much a player that is already at your level would benefit from them. The first book really is mostly theory like you said.

The second book is in my mind more or less a collection of licks and excercises. He basically breaks down the different techniques and gives you excercises for every one to get your technique going. I think for a beginner it would be a great thing but I don’t know how much of the content bovan the books would be something a player at your crwative would find beneficial. The second book is a very very complete achive about techniques, you have: It’s great because you can see how Guthrie manages all those techniques and of course it gives you fresh ideas about using them.

The first one I don’t remember I have them and I love ’em! This might be a good idea for me. You should try Amazon maybe they have reviews crfative some sort. Both books are brilliant.

The first one is more basic so I think that you should go for the second one but both are great books for students and instructors.

Jan 22 I dont have the books, but I do know this. Guthrie is a great guuthrie, And regardless of what your looking for out of this, It wouldnt hurt to see how he approaches the basics.

Let alone, the advanced techniques aswell. So I dont think it would hurt to get the first book.

Buy them both IMG: I don’t have these books David mate, so my opinion to you maybe of little use, but I wanted creativee say that I would buy both books if I would buying then myself mate. Extra book cannot hurt, and surely there is some useful stuff in both of them.

My two cents mate. Jan 23 I wouldn’t buy that theory book, but that other on technique, you can’t go wrong there. He is a fine picker, so book should be cool! You just reminded me to order new Mclaughlin’s DVD!: Jan 24 I don’t own those books but my student does and he showed me on numerous occasions.

If you are beginner looking to expand guthris and technical guotar, I think you can benefit from it to certain extent.
