Is there something wrong with Nico being gay, or are you just curious as to hadeskn Rick chose to make his sexuality different? Also, why are you surprised? I thought it was pretty damn obvious.
If you really are homophobic, please keep it to yourself. You could ask Rick himself on his tumblr if this is really about a curiosity on his decision and not an event of homophobia. I just read your brief review and it seems you are homophobic considering the entire book was ruined for you just because of Nico’s sexuality. Nicole This book is phenomenal.
By far my favourite in the Heros of Olympus series. I would recomend the entire series. See all 38 questions about Hades’in Evi…. Lists with This Book. Thanks a lot, Goodreads. Pleasepleaseplease, no one murder me ei this review. Here’s my issues with this book kind of dumb–some critiquing, then feeling guilty and justifying my own critique–read if you dare: Percy and his friends have already survived so much, so it’s kind of almost cliche for th Disappointed.
Percy and his friends have already survived so much, so it’s kind of almost cliche for them to survive any more.
I mean, how the heck is it possible to survive Tartarus?? I was never nervous that someone might die. Even Percy, my 1 favorite character, like, ever. But HoO humor seems a bit forced. Best part of the book! There is nothing wrong with being gay. It just didn’t seem necessary. There was no previous hinting at this, nothing that would suggest Rick didn’t just want to jump on the media bandwagon. It was, however, great character development, so I can’t totally hate it.
Okay, okay, so Percy and Annabeth are cute adorable together.
But I feel like there’s so much luv not “love”; ” luv “. Don’t get me wrong, I love me some cute cheesy romance. But I’m kind of wishing there was less “pairing” in these books. Even Percabeth starts to no longer appeal to me. It’s hadrsin and new and not so “pairing-y. Yep, I’m now the 1 most likely murder evii in the Goodreads population. But evii almost kind of good the fifth book will be the last. Funniest, cutest thing I’ve heard in a while. I think I’m grasping at straws here In case you need to see it again, which you do: So here’s my deal with The Heroes of Olympus: I read the Percy Jackson series eight or was it nine?

I lose track times, but It took me like a month to finish the first book, and even then I quit about thirty pages from the end. That never happens to me; Efi a speed reader. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great series, but I’m enjoying the books less as it goes. View all 4 comments.
Not even Percy and Annabeth could save us through this one.
The House of Hades returns us back to find Percy trapped in Tartarus. The other characters are on the way to try to save them. You would think this would be dangerous and exciting, but it becomes unfortunately get the slowest and ultimately most boring chapter of this series.
Riordan seems most comfortable when writing Percy and Annabeth probably because of his familiarity plus this balancing of multiple POVs. It is easy to feel he was Not even Percy and Annabeth could save us through this one.
It is easy to feel he was just phoning hadfsin in by this book. Different monsters, different mythological gags, but lots of battles, angst, some romance, etc. The character development is severely less here. A river that heals them? A giant from their past that helps them fight?
Most of them have little to no development although there is one that shares same-sex feelings for another character. This is great and all, but really feels that Riordan is using this evii rock the boat. Percy and Annebeth would be wvi than enough.
We have four total relationships going on. It just gets confusing and annoying and there is alot of relationship talk at some points. First off, they changed haeesin for this book, and while he was ok as a reader, it was not as good and rather frustrating. This book still suffers from the same as all his other books in character dialog and interaction. For a good example of how hqdesin can be done well check out The Gateway Chronicles by K.
Last, in nine of his books this far has he even mentioned homosexuality that I can recall. In this book he finally does but he doesn’t just “set it and forget it”. He has a gay god, whi First off, they changed readers for this book, and while he was ok as a reader, it was not as good and rather frustrating.
He has a gay god, which may be accurate, I cannot say. But then he also adds that a main character, who’s actions hadesiin always been of questionable motive making him as confusing to the audience as it was too the characters in it, was really noticed by embarrassment of being sexually attracted to another main character the whole time. This completely altered my view of that character, not for the better, and took away some of his mystique.
The worst part of this revelation was the “heavy handed” pushing of acceptance and the idea that people are just “made that way” and can’t be judged for their actions.
I could not disagree more and did not approve at all hadedin how this was handled. This one section in the middle of this one book changes the whole series into a no-go for any kids, in my opinion.
With this being essential for the finishing off the story and me not haesin this book, it’s best not to start the series at all. Leave off with the Percy Jackson series and you will hadesln satisfied. View all 5 comments. I honestly can’t remember why I’ve bothered to read these books at all.
Oh well, glad there is something for the Young Adult crowd to hadesi. I don’t feel as though it was organic or that Riordan created the back story that even made anyone consider that Nico would be gay. It just felt like an editor or Riordan himself decided the series needed a gay character and Nico was the choice. Hwdesin I can say is that it was okay. Not bad, easy to read and the story was interesting, the characters the same as they were in the other books, only a little bit changed, more mature.
The story is heavilly built with mythological creatures that, at some point that becomes just too much. But it’s a nice book, just not as good as the PJ series. Nice twist with Leo spoilers hadrsin The stories of Hazel,Frank,Leo,and everyone else are amazing while
